2023 OPEN CALL FOR THE 2024 RESIDENTS AND ASSOCIATE ARTISTS

In 2023, the annual Open Call for applications for Triangle-Astérides, Centre for Contemporary Art is open for the first time to artists from the local region who are based in Marseilles and its surroundings, through the Associate Artists program (Program n°2).

PROGRAM N°1 : RESIDENCY

Apply now for a 10-week research residency aimed at artists from French (outside Marseilles) and international scenes in the emerging/mid-career stage of their practice, without age or nationality criteria.
The opportunity is for artists working in the field of visual arts (all mediums are acceptable). It is possible to apply as a duo.

Session #1: Monday, January 29 to Monday, April 8, 2024
Session #2: Monday, April 29 to Monday, July 8, 2024
Session #3: Monday, September 16 to Monday, November 25, 2024

PROGRAM N°2 : ASSOCIATE ARTISTS

Apply to have a studio at Triangle-Asterides with artistic and curatorial support for 11 months. This program is for artists from the local scene (Marseilles and its metropolitan area) in the emerging/mid-career stage of their practice, without age or nationality criteria.
This opportunity is for artists working in the field of visual arts (all mediums are acceptable). It is possible to apply as a duo or a collective.

A single annual session: from Monday January 16 to Friday December 15, 2024

Application files must be sent to triangle2024@trianglefrance.org, in a single PDF file (less than 12 Mb).
Application Deadline: TUESDAY, MAY 9, 2023 (11 pm, GMT+1).

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection process is completed in two stages:

1) during the first stage all applications are read and considered carefully and a preselection process is completed by two independent curators (usually a French representative / an international representative) commissioned by Triangle-Astérides and different each year;
2) the second and final stage is a jury selection which takes place over two days in June 2023. The jury is made up of two curators and an artist (French and international representatives), commissioned by Triangle-Astérides and different each year, and of two members of the Triangle-Astérides team.

Each year, the Triangle-Astérides jury curates a mixed selection in terms of artistic practice, training background, age, gender and nationality.

All applicants will be notified mid-July 2023.
