CLAUDE EIGAN

Claude Eigan was born in 1983 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (FR). He lives and works in Marseilles. Claude Eigan strives to create dreamlike settings and environments where all the senses are exalted through their exposure. Influenced by contemporary poetry, the Berlin-based artist translates these strategies into a sculptural practice that triggers memory and enhances sensation. By altering scale and color, isolating or externalizing individual structures such as bones, intestines or fluids, he looks at the dysfunctional anatomy of our collective imagination and explores the abject dimension of the body, as well as other realms of uncertainty and chaos.
